NUBU RESORT '14

Steel sculptures of the Sculpture Park in Dunaújváros resuscitate in the resort 2014 collection of NUBU. The corroded iron surfaces and sculpture prints appear on pieces with the well-known NUBU cuts. Contemporary art is the number one source of inspiration for the designers of the brand: after architecture and painting, they now treated masterpieces of sculpture in their work. The designers chose Ferenc Friedrich’s and Gyula Várnai’s open-air statues placed on the bank of the Danube for their printed pieces, and refreshed the usual triple contrast of black, white, and beige with bright green and orange. The specialty of the collection is the diverse use of materials. Some fabrics are covered with a layer of black or white organza that causes an interesting light effect, so we perceive colors dipped. Besides the usual silk and neoprene fabrics, the designers used vinyl, impregnated linen, fabrics with metallic threads, and knitted and woven raffia.
